Billed as an easy-to-handle family dayboat, the J/7 will be available for test sails throughout the 2026 Grand Pavois. This is a particularly fitting approach for a sailboat where most of the action takes place in the cockpit.
Try out the J/7 for six days in La Rochelle
J Composites will offer test sailings on its J/7 throughout the Grand Pavois La Rochelle, from September 22 to 27, 2026. The test sailings, lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes and open to sailors of all skill levels, will be scheduled by appointment and are subject to favorable weather conditions.
The appeal of this type of boat is obvious. The J/7 is a 7.04-meter daysailer designed primarily for day sailing. A visit at the dock lets you see the cockpit and the layout, but it tells you nothing about the boat?s stability, how it handles, or how easy it is to maneuver.
A short but useful essay
A test sail at a boat show is no substitute for a full-fledged sail in a variety of conditions. It will, however, allow you to quickly assess the most important aspects of a daysailer: the position at the helm, balance, stability, cockpit ergonomics, and ease of maneuvering. This is precisely what J Composites wants to highlight at the Grand Pavois: giving visitors a chance to experience the J/7 in a way that goes beyond just the dock.
