Test / Navan C30 concept: a high-end off-road cabin cruiser

It's not often that a new brand arrives on the market. The first models from the Navan brand have benefited from the cumulative experience of the various subsidiaries of the Brunswick Group. The result is a promising newcomer to the high-end cabin cruiser segment.

The arrival of a new brand on the market is rare, and Navan's first models have benefited from the experience of the Brunswick Group, giving them a strong foundation for market success.

American origins

The Navan C30 is inspired by the Commuter concept, developed in the USA in the early 20th century. This type of boat, characterized by its length and finesse, was used by New York's upper middle class to link Manhattan to Connecticut without using roads. Commuter boats were designed to be fast and agile, capable of sailing quickly in all weathers.

A premium investment

Part of the Quicksilver subsidiary, the Navan brand stands out for its premium positioning. Made in Portugal, Navan boats benefit from the level of finish demanded by European customers, as Sylvain Perret, the brand's marketing manager, confirms:

"This is the result of two years of in-depth development and market research. There is a clear demand from both end customers and our dealers for low-water double-hulled boats with elegant design and high performance. This new offering should also enhance the reputation of the Quicksilver brand by bringing it a new level of quality."

One step hull, two deck plans

Based on a common hull, the first two models in the range are distinguished by their deck layout. The Navan S30 features a T-Top and a walk-around deck with central console, while the Navan C30 offers a fully enclosed cabin and galley.

With this range, the brand aims to satisfy boaters who sail on different types of water, as Sylvain Perret points out: "Our range meets the varied needs of European yachtsmen. The S30 version will be aimed primarily at Central Europe, Southern Europe and the Mediterranean, which represent an important market for Quicksilver. The C30 version, on the other hand, will be geared more towards the Nordic countries, such as Scandinavia and Poland."

Successful aesthetics

Rushing into a competitive market, Navan has succeeded in producing a successfully designed deck-hull unit, perfectly integrating the elements of a demanding specification. The C30 features a fully enclosed cabin, a double berth, cruising facilities, a large sundeck and a secure aft cockpit. On a hull barely 9m at the waterline, the challenge was audacious, but the synthesis is successful.
