Magonis innovates to develop electric navigation

Magonis, a Spanish manufacturer of electric boats, will present new innovations in early 2023 to accompany the transition to electric navigation: a charging buoy and a solar awning. First details on these two novelties.

An electric bowrider

In mid-June 2021, Magonis, a new Spanish manufacturer, launched the Wave e-550 a 5.50 m long and 1.98 m wide dayboat with a bowrider deck plan. It is equipped with a MAG Power propulsion of 30 kW, the maximum power, developed in-house at the shipyard, and giving it a top speed of 22 knots.

With the objective of investing in a more sustainable boating, Magonis has since developed two innovations: the MAGBuoy and a solar awning.

Recharge your boat anywhere

The MAG Buoy is a buoy that allows you to recharge your electric boat. Developed in-house, this mobile charging station is compatible with all brands of boats. Equipped with an integrated battery and powered by an underwater cable connected to the city's electrical network, it offers an alternative for areas without charging stations. All you need to do is to retrieve the charging cable from the buoy and connect it to your boat. For the moment, the shipyard has not communicated the power delivered.

Take advantage of an anchorage to recharge the batteries

Magonis has also developed a solar cover for its Wave e-550, which can charge up to 1 kW/h. Foldable and flexible, it is easily stored. It not only provides shade, but also charges the boat at anchor for example. At 4 knots, the consumption is 1 kWh, power provided by the solar shade.
