Store and maintain the motor battery in good shape
Because of its compactness, the Temo 450 is easy to store for winter storage in the house. The battery will be the only one to require some attention for an optimal life span, even if, left aside all winter, it will still work the following year. Temo's advice is to charge it to 100% at the end of the season. After the final rinse with clean water, during which the Temo 450 will have consumed a little, the battery will have lost a first charge bar, which is the best to store a Lithium Ion battery. It always consumes a little bit during winter storage. Every 2 to 3 months, if the battery falls below 2 bars of charge, it is sufficient to charge it for a short hour. This way you can keep its life estimated at 800 cycles.
Some precautions for use
The Temo 450 requires only the maintenance necessary for any equipment used in a marine environment. A small passage of degreaser on the telescopic shaft will avoid problems due to the accumulation of dirt in the tube. For the electricity, a passage of contact cleaner at the end of the season cannot harm the electric motor and its charging system.
Finally, before going back to sea, a dismantling of the propeller will allow to make sure that no seaweed or wire can hinder the rotation of the thruster.
