At the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024, Yanmar Marine International (YMI) presents its E-Sail Drive, an electric propulsion system designed for rapid, intuitive installation. This innovation marks Yanmar's entry into the electric sector, with a range designed to make the conversion of existing boats more accessible. The E-Sail Drive is available in three power ratings: SDe7 kW, SDe10 kW and SDe15 kW. Installation is facilitated by compatibility with existing combustion engine footprints, making it an ideal solution for owners looking to switch to zero-emission propulsion.
An integrated "plug and play" system
The E-Sail Drive is distinguished by its integrated system, which brings together all the necessary components on a single "plug and play" platform. This enables a smooth transition for boaters wishing to adopt a more environmentally-friendly propulsion system without complex modifications to their boat. The E-Sail Drive range meets the same technical requirements as Yanmar internal combustion engines, while benefiting from the brand's worldwide support network.
Visitors to the Cannes Yachting Festival will be able to discover the SDe15 kW model at the Yanmar stand (Palais 118), as well as the SDe10 kW model in demonstration on the "Hanasaka" boat. The latter embodies Yanmar's philosophy of pushing back the boundaries to open up new perspectives.
