Web series / Transatlantic : Between windy squalls and swimming in the middle of the ocean

The crew of the Atlantic Pretenders continues its ocean crossing. A new episode marked by an alternation of big squalls and calms, an opportunity to swim in deep waters, beautiful images and idleness.

Oilskins still needed in stormy squalls

On the 20th day of sailing, the Pretenders to the Atlantic are approaching the goal of their navigation. However, the conditions are certainly tropical, but not in the best sense of the word. No trade winds, but an alternation of stormy squalls with their torrential rains and days without wind under a heavy heat. Nevertheless, the crew continues to face it with good humor, between watch jackets and little outfits!

Reefing maneuvers are now better mastered, only the promiscuity and the sometimes divergent visions of cleanliness and tidiness sometimes create some tensions.

Vigilance on board still required

Fabienne's birthday was the occasion for a party with a sugar cane flavour that was already very West Indian. But the weather reminds the crew and shows how vigilant they must always be at sea.

Swimming in very deep water!

When the sea breezes come, the awning is fixed under the boom and everyone goes about their business, culinary or cultural, reading being often the best ally of the sailor. Swimsuits are out. With snorkelers on board and a well-equipped director, it is the occasion for beautiful images of diving around the boat and choreography around the keel.

Series supported by the Swiss Radio Television (RTS) and the magazine Skippers.
