Web series / First damage and first squalls on the way to the Canaries

Leaving La Coruña for the Canaries, the crew of the Atlantic Pretenders faced the first technical difficulties. Between wildlife and masthead shots, the images are not lacking in interest.

Heading for the Canaries

After its forced stopover following the storm encountered at the end of the Bay of Biscay crossing, the crew of the Atlantic Pretenders is tackling the first big chunk of its ocean crossing. Leaving Corunna, they set course for the Canary Islands. The Portuguese trade winds are not there and the big downwind surfs are overdue. The rhythm of the watches is taken and the weather offers some nice squalls, nicely captured by the camera.

First damage on board the boat

The crew also had to deal with several material breakages. Between broken halyard and blocked at the top of the mast, damaged ropes, the time for DIY is open. It will take several climbs to the top of the mast to repair, an opportunity for beautiful images.

The characters are revealed and we start to know and get attached to the different members.

Series supported by the Swiss Radio Television (RTS) and the magazine Skippers.
