Few driving sensations
Our boat is equipped with the most powerful Yanmar engine with 2 x 440 hp well installed in a very clinical engine hold with good access. The cameras integrated in the fly are handy for manoeuvring, because with 10 m wide it is difficult to see both sides and behind at the same time. Off Barcelona, where a well established north-easterly rpm raises a strong chop, we start our tests. In these slightly choppy conditions, the platform is proving its stability in beam seas and is reducing the pitching in the face of the wave well. The passage is smooth and it is necessary to climb to more than fifteen knots in front of the waves to get the foredeck wet. This said, the piloting sensations are very aseptic and in the absence of high speed, it is advisable to activate the automatic pilot and to keep a very relaxing watch from the flybridge or from the interior wheelhouse. At maximum speed, we have reached 20 knots, which allows us to get back to the shelter fairly quickly if necessary, but it is at a trawler speed of 10 to 12 knots that the qualities of the Sixty 7 are at their best.
Very serene atmosphere
In these somewhat strong conditions, we are returning to a more moderate cruising speed of 8 to 9 knots. Well installed in the sofa and closed bay window, the perception of the outside elements is impossible. You can enjoy a live concert, as if you were there, so much the sound system invades the space. You really have to watch the landscape to realize that you are sailing.
A super autonomy
At this speed, a consumption of 15 litres per mile gives a range of more than 3,000 miles, which allows you to cross the Atlantic and live as if you were in a beautiful apartment with a sea view and a terrace. Coastal cruising on flat sea will make you consume about 120 liters at 15 knots with always the same conditions of comfort inside for almost 700 miles.
