The release of very luxurious models at Lagoon, such as the Seventy 7 and Seventy 8, real yachts, has somewhat influenced customer demand for the brand's top-of-the-range models over the last three years. Rather than replacing the 620 and 630 MY with equivalent sizes, the brand has preferred to consolidate the luxury card and give itself the means to provide elitist services by adding a few extra feet to its flagship vessels, whose architecture has been entrusted to the VPLP design office.
A buoyant market

The demand for prestige units in sizes below 70 feet is growing, whether in monohulls or multihulls. The advantage of the catamaran lies in the available surface area, which grants de facto the habitable volume of a larger size, in an economy of use, and offering a natural stability attractive to novices. A clientele coming from motoryachts is targeted, but also yachtsmen wishing to move up in the range either for ownership or charter. In order to produce in good conditions, the builder has not hesitated to devote all of its Bordeaux workshops to this activity, taking advantage of CNB's departure from the group's Italian factory.

A statistical forecast

In order to remain attractive and make luxury more accessible, the brand has worked on forecasting the options likely to be ordered by shipowners. As with NBCs 66 and 76, the long experience acquired has made it possible to delimit in advance the range of choices that systematically recur in the applications and to anticipate them at the design and pre-production levels. Two different layouts of the galley, in a hull or on the deck, VIP cabin or twin beds or pullman berths, three to six guest cabins with en-suite bathroom, bare or furnished flybridge, all these variants and many others in terms of decoration are proposed in the catalogue to meet a wide variety of programmes, but in the end always a little stereotyped. Avoiding the unknown saves a lot of time in production and reduces construction costs.

Controlled production timing

Predictability of the manufacturing phases reduces assembly line occupancy times. Hulls, gondolas, bridges and superstructures are produced in glass/balsa/ Vinylester sandwich under infusion in about ten days. Finishing takes eight to ten weeks and the client can expect to see his boat in the water four to five months after the order, which is very short for this type of unit.
