Olympic Games 2024: 49er Olympic preparation in pictures

Beautiful images of gliding under spinnaker and clear explanations. XPO and Allen deliver a nice video presenting the preparation of their partner crew in 49er, Erwan Fischer and Clément Péquin, in their quest for a medal at the future Paris 2024 Olympic Games on the Marseilles race course.

49er surfing in Canarian waters

The Erwan Fischer - Clément Péquin duo is sailing a 49er and is preparing to compete in the world championships in Lanzarote in 2024, before hoping to shine at the 2024 Olympic Games on the Marseilles race course. Their technical partner XPO, a distributor of Allen fittings, delivers a video that not only showcases their equipment, but also provides an educational insight into the realities of sailing this little-known skiff.

The training camp in the windy waters of the Canaries, prior to the global confrontation, is the occasion for some beautiful images, alternating on-board camera and aerial drone views. We can measure the speed and adrenalin that the 2 sailors must experience.

Focus on Olympic sailing

In addition to the sailing footage, interviews with Erwan Fischer and Clément Péquin shed light on the practical aspects of Olympic preparation, including course planning, time spent fitting out and tinkering with the boat, the role of the trainer and physical preparation, and the division of roles on board.

While we can wish the two sailors all the best in competition, we'll certainly be enjoying these quick, sunny tacks behind our screens when the weather's grey!
