From April 26 to 28, 2024, Quiberon Bay will host the 36th edition of the Eurocat, organized by the Carnac Yacht Club. With 100 registered participants and a village dedicated to the environment, this event promises a mix of competition and ecological awareness. Festivities will include workshops, water sports and a grand concert.

Eurocat, the must-attend event for sport catamaran enthusiasts, launches its 36th edition. The event, which takes place in the Bay of Quiberon, combines sport and environmental commitment. The event will be enhanced by the presence of renowned competitors and a wide range of activities.

Sport and competition

Eurocat 2024 will see the participation of iconic sailing figures such as Thibaut Vauchel-Camus, Yvan Bourgnon, and Emmanuel le Roch. The flagship event, the Grand Raid around the island of Houat, will take place on Saturday April 27, promising an intense day of sailing. The sporting program begins with technical courses on Friday, April 26, and concludes with the final races on Sunday, April 28, before the prize-giving ceremony.

Ecological and educational commitment

This year, the Eurocat village will focus on ecology, with workshops on making sustainable products and a major beach clean-up. Initiatives such as the Echappée Bleue, led by Paul Meilhat, will aim to educate young people about the importance of preserving aquatic environments. The village will also feature nautical equipment repair workshops and introductions to various water sports.

Culture and conviviality

In addition to the sporting aspect, Eurocat 2024 will be a place of conviviality and culture. A BBQ is planned for Friday evening, and an oyster aperitif will follow the Grand Raid prize-giving ceremony. Local artists such as Stéphanie Gontard will exhibit their work, while Christophe Garcia will enliven the beach with his ephemeral creations. The highlight will be a concert by Tramp Experience on Saturday evening, promising to entertain participants and visitors alike.

Eurocat continues to prove that nautical competition can rhyme with respect for the environment and community involvement. For those interested in sailing and sustainable development, the 2024 edition in Carnac is a not-to-be-missed event to discover the actors of a greener future.
