Ocean Globe Race competitors due to finish in 5 days' time

After 6,000 miles of racing in the Southern Ocean, the first competitors in Leg 2 of the Ocean Globe Race are the Italian Translated 9 and the French Pen Duick VI. They are now just 1,000 miles from Auckland and should reach Australia in 5 days' time. The two leaders have opted for different routes and strategies, and these last few days of sailing are going to be decisive.

A new Ultim for the Gitana stable

8 years after the launch of the first flying trimaran, the Maxi Edmond de Rothschild, the Gitana stable will launch a new giant of the seas . The design of this new Ultim has been entrusted to Guillaume Verdier, Benjamin Muyl, naval architect in charge of the design team for the French America's Cup challenge Orient Express, and the design office of the Gitana stable. Gitana 18, which will be launched in 2025, will be versatile in terms of program, but more suited to long crossings and challenges.

Jean Le Cam takes the start of Retour à la Base

A final AC40 showdown at the Jeddah preliminary regatta

The 6 America's Cup contenders met on the Jeddah racecourse for a second preliminary regatta, and the last in the AC40 class. Emirates Team New Zealand won ahead of Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team and Alinghi Red Bull Racing. The French finished in 6th and last place. The next confrontation will take place in Barcelona in August 2024, this time in the AC75 class.

Tanguy Le Turquais last to finish the Transat Jacques Vabre

Tanguy Le Turquais and Félix de Navacelle, on the IMOCA Lazare, have demonstrated their self-sacrifice. They crossed the finish line of the Transat Jacques Vabre on schedule, on December 1, 2023, after 24 days, 1 hour and 21 minutes. The night after the start, they had collided with a UFO, forcing them to make a stopover in Lorient to repair the gaping hull.

Less than 10 hours after his arrival, Tanguy, in search of his Vendée Globe qualification, set off on the Return to Base at exactly 3:34pm on December 1st.

New record for distance covered in 24 hours, single-handed, monohull

The weather conditions for the Retour à la Base allowed the IMOCA boats to reach Lorient "full ball".
