Combining aluminum and polyester
Inha Works Ltd brings together the three boat brands Buster, Yamarin and Cross. Europe's largest aluminum boat manufacturer and market leader in Nordic pleasure boats, the manufacturer became part of the Yamaha Motor Europe group in 2016.
While Buster is entirely dedicated to aluminum boats and Yamarin to polyester hulls, Cross is a compromise between the two. The boats have aluminum hulls and fiberglass decks. With the exception of the Cross 60 Cabin, all six models are open hulls. Two models are also available as V Max editions, the 57 and 62 Bow Rider. The hull remains the same, but the motorization and some of the graphics and fittings are different. For example, the cleats, railings and handrails are matte black. The boat's program is that of an urban boat, i.e. one used by Finns to get to work, to their vacation homes, or simply to travel by sea from one place to another, like a car.

A simple yet comfortable layout
We tested the Cross 62 Bow Rider in the V Max edition. This is an open hull with a bowrider deck plan, 6.15 m long and 2.29 m wide. The transom is preceded by bathing platforms and lockers that provide access to the interior.
The layout is simple but comfortable, with a U-shaped bench seat aft, a double helm console with the starboard helm station and pilot's seat, and the port co-pilot's seat with pocket and handrail. The streamlined windshield features a central opening for bowrider access. A Plexiglas door also closes the central passage. The foredeck features a starboard bench seat, storage lockers and a bow landing platform.

Standard equipment in the V MAX special edition
In addition to the powerful V MAX SHO engine, the standard equipment of the Cross 62 V MAX edition includes the Entertainment package, a black water-ski roll bar, a non-slip Softdeck floor covering and the new 12-inch Cross Q intelligent display. This conveniently combines navigation and entertainment functions on a single touchscreen. It is also possible to integrate the Q Guard anti-theft function, which allows you to locate your boat and remotely monitor the status of the battery, bilge and engine.

Powerful engines to exceed 40 knots
In addition to different finishes, the V Max version also gets a more powerful engine. The most powerful version of the Cross 62 V Max is powered by a 150 hp Yamaha Max SHO outboard. During our test run in calm, windless seas, the maximum speed obtained was 41 knots with three people, but the shipyard claims a maximum speed of 43 knots. Cruising speed is around 28 knots.

Sailing is comfortable and stable, with the aluminum hull passing pleasantly through the wakes formed by other boats. Designed for northern conditions, this 6-meter open hull should prove very seaworthy in rough seas. Note that, as the throttle is mechanically controlled, we found during our test that the precision of speed adjustment remains more sensitive and handling rougher.
