Test / Quicksilver 805 Open price and options: adjusted pricing but lots of options

As usual, Quiksilver Boats offers a very well-priced boat in its basic version. But a host of options can add to the final bill.

A competitive segment

In the coveted 7 to 8 m boat segment, the Quicksilver 805 Open will be competing with products from French and foreign boatyards:

Beneteau's Flyer 7 Sundeck is a little smaller and less versatile, and will be available for around 84,000 euros incl. VAT, optioned and with a 200-hp Suzuki.

The Leader 7.5 WA Serie3 has similar length characteristics to the Quicksilver 805, and will be offered at 125,000 euros incl. VAT, optioned and with a 300-hp Yamaha.

The B2 Marine Cap Ferret 702 Sun Deck, a little shorter and less versatile, will cost 61,000euros TTC with a 175hp Suzuki.

A Boston Whaler 25 Dauntless, with a much higher level of finish, will be available at 185,430 euros incl. VAT with 250 hp Mercury Verado.

Conclusion

The Quicksilver 805 Open has many qualities: versatility, ease of handling and excellent ergonomics. Its look and sporty silhouette stand out from the rather conventional choices of its competitors.

An effort has been made to improve the level of finish, but a few details still need to be worked on.

With the same length, the Quicksilver is capable of handling more power, and also has a greater capacity, being approved for 10 people.

Its 6.99 m hull length and 225 hp engine make it tax-exempt.

With a base price of 69,000 euros and a 225-hp Mercury, it's well positioned in relation to French production models. But with the addition of a number of essential options and equipment packages, the bill will easily exceed 100,000 euros.
