at first glance, one might think that the new Simrad NSX plotter is just another screen in the MFD (Multi Function Display) world. However, the NSX plotter is based on a completely new operating system that makes it particularly intuitive to use.
For a simplified user experience
For the past 2 years, Simrad's R&D department has been working on the most intuitive user interface possible. Our smartphones have become accustomed to doing without instructions and to finding solutions quickly to perform operations. The NSX will do the same.
This NSX chartplotter is a chartplotter, depth sounder, radar, autopilot or music control station. It is the nerve center of the boat. It is primarily intended for the powerboat market.
Optimized C-Map Discover X and Reveal X maps
For the map, it displays the latest C-Map (cartography belonging to Navico / Simrad) with in particular Autorouting functions (route tracing while avoiding obstacles) and map overlay functions (satellite image for example) with the possibility to manage transparency. C-Map also offers very detailed maps for fishermen (a probe every 30 cm) and the highlighting of relief by colors (3D view).
Ready for fishing
For fishermen and other underwater enthusiasts, the sonar supports all transducers up to 1 kW and can display high-resolution images below and to the side of the boat with Active Imaging (real-time, video-like imaging), CHIRP, SideScan/DownScan Imaging and FishReveal.
A clear configuration
Above all, the NSX has a new operating system that makes it very easy to use. The configuration of, for example, the sounder or the radar can be done by anyone. It's just a matter of answering a few simple questions. In addition, window management is intuitive. You can, for example, place the autopilot window anywhere on the screen, or switch to full screen with the active window, or have your frequently used windows directly accessible in the right-hand menu.
Ready for the future
As the focal point of the on-board installation, the NSX provides full networking capabilities with a modem connection system to connect additional devices and an Ethernet port for full networking capabilities as the on-board configuration evolves.
The NSX is now part of the mid-range of Simrad plotters. It is available from 1049 euros HT for 3 screen sizes (7", 9" and 12").
