NSX Ultrawide, a panoramic display now available from Simrad

Simrad announces a new product that will change the way our dashboards are organized: the NSX Ultrawide. It's a multi-function display that takes all the classic functions, but displays them on a screen in panoramic format.

Simrad's first panoramic display

Simrad announces an MFD (Multifunction Display) plotter with a panoramic screen. The idea is to use a single computer that is displayed on an XXL-sized screen. This means it's possible to display several elements on the same screen, thanks to a set of windows. There's no doubt that the particularly intuitive NSX operating system will work wonders on this type of configuration. Drivers will be able to create their own pages, according to the way they use their boat. We've already discovered this type of screen with the Nova 10x2 from Navicom ... except that Simrad's NSX uses a single panel, whereas the Nova is a combination of 2 separate panels. On the NSX, for example, it's possible to extend the mapping or sounder window across the entire width of the device.

Different sizes to fit dashboards

The NSX Ultrawide is available in 2 sizes, 12 and 15 inches. The 12-inch offers a resolution of 1920 x 720 pixels and a case size of 33.7 x 14.8 cm. The 15-inch has the same resolution (1920 x 720 pixels), but with a case size of 39 x 17 cm.

The advantage of this type of screen is that you don't need to buy 2 units, making assembly easier, with less cabling, lower power consumption and, to a lesser extent, a lower price. The NSX Ultrawide 12" is priced at ?3,778.80 incl. VAT, and the 15" model at ?4,498.80 incl. VAT.
