Today, the X6.5 - although still in the catalog - is no longer really promoted by the Danish shipyard. With the renewal of the X Yachts range, started with the X4.3 (already 100 units in 5 years!), the X5.6, which has the same arguments, becomes the largest model.
This monohull sailboat is a real cruiser-racer designed to offer a reduced crew (mainly a couple) the possibility to sail on a large, powerful, easy to handle and very comfortable sailboat.
Very fluid deck lines

We were able to discover this sailboat moored in the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2021. The fluidity of the lines of the deckhouse calls out. It must be said that nothing hinders the view, neither winches nor piano blockers, nor hood. Only the teak deck slats guide our gaze towards the bow. Moreover, on a yacht of more than 17 m, the deckhouse fits perfectly into the line without being prominent. We will discover later that the deckhouse canopy is still present, but that it disappears completely under the deck in a perfectly adapted niche.
A cockpit divided into 2 spaces

The front part of the cockpit is intended for rest. In order not to interfere, all the maneuvers come back from each side in front of the two helm stations. The mainsheet can be returned to a central block (with a winch) or to each side.
To complete the silhouette, the boat is equipped with a fixed bowsprit on which the anchor goes up, but which also serves as a tack for the code 0. An electric furler is even located inside!

The highlight of the show is the dinghy garage at the rear, which is equipped with a small crane and houses a 3.2 m dinghy with its engine. It is the presence of the latter that imposes a rather shallow and high cockpit.
Proven construction

Like all X-Yachts, this yacht is sandwiched with an epoxy infusion. The novelty comes from the fact that the deck is also built in the same way. Of course, we find the famous steel frame in the bottom which takes all the efforts of the sailboat.

The interior layout is classic, although we note the central island in the center of the square that delimits the kitchen and the square (and integrates the sink and a freezer). In front of the table, we will also note the real sofa with the bench that also serves as a coffee table. The woodwork is very present as usual in the units of this site.
A high-end unit

With a price ranging from 1,200,000 euros to 1,500,000 euros (depending on the equipment), the X5.6 is aimed at a slightly elitist clientele of connoisseurs who are looking for a high-performance, easy-to-use and comfortable sailing boat. The whole is largely flattering with a construction and a finish largely above the average.
