Mylius M60GL: architecture, performance and use of an 18.50 m carbon sailboat

Designed by Giovanni Ceccarelli for the Italian shipyard Mylius Yachts, the M60GL is an 18.5 m cruiser-racer built in prepreg carbon. Behind its sleek lines and technological choices lies an ambitious sailing program, featuring fast cruising, IRC/ORC racing and life on board, enhanced by a customizable interior.

A yacht designed to combine fast cruising and regatta use

Designed for fast cruising while remaining competitive in regattas, the M60GL is aimed at yachtsmen looking for a versatile boat, optimized for IRC/ORC ratings but also comfortable for stopovers. Its hull design, marked by an inverted sheer, maximum beam at the stern (5.50 m) and a fixed keel of 3.60 m, offers a stable trim, favorable to downwind sailing.

Corecell prepreg carbon construction for lightness and rigidity

The choice of prepreg carbon laminate with Corecell foam core enables Mylius to control weight and structural rigidity. The light displacement, announced at 16,250 kg, remains reasonable for the program, while integrating the comfort expected on board. The sail area of 220 m² upwind and 325 m² downwind remains easy to handle, thanks to top-of-the-range deck fittings.

Top-of-the-range fittings and an ergonomic deck adapted to small crews

With a 24 m Hall Spars carbon mast, Harken Racing GP winches, hydraulic transverse jib tracks and a bowsprit, the deck remains optimized for sporty sailing. All ropes run below the flush deck, freeing up the living areas. A semi-rigid carbon bimini and modular cockpit fittings (removable bench seats, removable table) allow you to switch from racing to cruising configuration.

A bright, customizable and technically equipped interior

The shipyard's philosophy of personalization is reflected inside, with a three-cabin, three-head layout. The owner's suite forward, the large central saloon and the two aft cabins (double and twin) offer comfortable living space. Decoration can incorporate top-of-the-range choices, such as Loro Piana fabrics and high-gloss white joinery on bleached oak floors. The on-board equipment includes a tablet-controlled home automation system, B&G instrumentation and a multimedia package.

A customizable sailboat, built to order and ready to sail in 2026

The M60GL is fully customizable, from interior design to deck layout and sails. This design flexibility allows owners to configure a truly bespoke boat, according to their program. A first unit, destined for a European owner, is expected to be launched in 2026.
