Outboard and high-speed version for the Loxo 32

When it was launched in 2017, the Loxo 32, the first motor boat from the Structures shipyard, had to meet the following concept: cruising at moderate speed with a low engine. In 2020, the shipyard declines its motorboat in HB version.

A cruise ship for slow sailing

At the end of 2017, the Breton shipyard Structures, father of the famous Pogo sailing boats, launched its first motor boat, the Loxo 32. The specifications of this small 9.50m motorboat m?: A light and gliding cruising boat, very lightly motorized (50 to 75 hp inboard single or twin engine) to offer a lot of autonomy and low consumption: 0.5 l/mn at 12 knots or 250 miles of autonomy.

An outboard version

At the dawn of the 2020 summer season, Structures is taking a turn to offer its flagship in outboard motorization. A choice that runs counter to the basic concept, but which the shipyard justifies by customer demand.

The idea of the Loxo 32 in the HB version (up to 150 HP in single-engine and 2X60 or 2x70 HP in twin-engine), is to be able to reach a destination quickly - top speed between 25 and 30 knots - for sport fishing for example. Another advantage of the outboard, the possibility to raise the engine and thus to be able to beauty.

No change inside

The interior layout remains the same: a double berth in the forepeak, a saloon with the possibility of installing a table (removable), a steering position on the starboard side facing the road, a small galley on the port side and a toilet, all bathed in light flooding in through the roof glazing.

A new cockpit layout

With this new version, the manufacturer took the opportunity to propose a new cockpit layout. Thus, the transom - previously closed by a bathing platform - will now be open with two small bathing platforms for swimming or access to the pontoon dead-ended.

The Loxo 32 will also benefit from a real opposite saloon - by installing the inner saloon table in the cockpit - which will be transformed into a sunbathing area.

Navigate slowly or rapidement??

Also 3 years ago, the Polish shipyard Northman (represented by Catway in France) launched the Nexus 870 Revo, a trawler designed for coastal cruising, in "slow life" mode, with a 30 to 45 HP engine (inboard or outboard). But this boat did not meet with the expected success.

Even if the core target of the Loxo 32 remains low-speed cruising, the shipyard wants to expand its offer by proposing a new, more powerful engine. It is true that powerboat owners are above all looking for a boat to move quickly from one destination to another and enjoy a day anchorage.
