Dolceriva, a modern runabout with a sporty style

The Riva Dolceriva

Riva's latest model is the Dolceriva, a 48-foot sports cruising open, whose style is at the crossroads of old runabouts and car racing.

A sports model inspired by runabouts

The famous Riva Yachts manufacturer, known for its luxurious boats with Italian elegance, unveiled the all-new Dolceriva. This 48-foot open (14.92 m long and 4.26 m wide) is the result of a collaboration between Officina Italiana Design, which has been designing the entire Italian fleet for over 25 years, and the Ferretti Group's engineering department.

The Dolceriva is based on the lines of the Rivamare launched in 2016, inspired by icons of the past such as the Aquariva Super or the Aquarama. While inspired by the design of runabouts, the style is more modern and sporty and is inspired by the automotive world. Riva does not break with its luxurious signature, as evidenced by the use of noble materials and numerous accessories and details.

A long work of design and luxurious elegance

The design of hull glazing is the result of a complex research process conducted by Officina Italiana Design. This long arabesque skillfully connects the hull and deck. At the rear of the bulwarks, the carbon fibre air outlets with steel frames are reminiscent of automotive style. Below, inserts with mahogany and steel underline the elegance of the boat.

The aesthetics have been strongly worked on, especially with this large curved windscreen made of crystal and equipped with a slight counter-curvature. This signature will also be that of future models. The front axle with the legendary glossy mahogany - 20 coats of varnish please plait?! - is slit with V-shaped glass that brings light into the cabin. In the centre, the chrome-plated aluminium formwork supports the Riva banner, a distinctive feature of the older models.

On the main deck, several elements also pay tribute to the brand's legends, starting with the white maple stripes on the floor. The rounded stern pays tribute to the iconic "Ariston and Tritone" models while evoking the rear of a luxury sports car.

An outdoor life

With an open deck layout, the Dolceriva offers all the necessary comfort for a relaxing day at sea. Starting with the folding transom. Covered by a wooden bench with handrails on it when closed, it offers two large sunbathing areas once opened, which fit perfectly into the shape of the hull. They are separated by a central passage that provides access to the cockpit via a few steps. Two storage compartments can be used to store nautical equipment.

In the cockpit, there are two other large sunbathing areas, separated by a central passage, concealing additional storage compartments and overlooking the dining area in the middle of the ship.

The latter consists of an L-shaped sofa on the port side, a folding central table in steel and mahogany, and a second facing sofa. This space can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people. In the centre, on the starboard side, there is access to a 4m2 storage area under the deck. On request, this space can also be arranged in a crew area or in a second cabin with a small storage compartment.

At the front, well hidden behind the windshield is the cockpit with a pilot seat to starboard and a co-pilot seat to port. The dashboard consists of a Garmin navigation system with touch screens.

On the port side and under the co-pilot's chair is the bar area with a refrigerator, ice maker, sink, worktop, recycling bins and various storage compartments.

This deck area can be protected by a retractable electro-hydraulic bimini.

A spacious night space

A steel and glass hatch leads to a luxurious open space including a dining area with a sofa, a kitchen and a bathroom with a separate shower and cupboards. A 43-inch television set is installed on the starboard side.

The spacious owner's cabin is located at the front, separated from the dining area by a sliding steel and glass door. This structure is specially designed to allow light to enter while providing maximum privacy. The owner's cabin is equipped with a central bed, two wardrobes and storage lockers.

Under the bridge, too, there are noble materials in the purest Riva style: shiny mahogany wood on the furniture, reflective surfaces, leather, steel and wood elements, matt and glossy lacquered.

40 knots in pointe?!

The Dolceriva has an optional V Drive, which, thanks to the two Volvo Penta D13 engines with 1000 HP each, allows a top speed of 40 knots. The cruising speed is 35 knots.

As standard, the model offers two Volvo Penta D13 engines, each with 800 hp and a maximum speed of 35 knots and a cruising speed of 27 knots.

The Auto Trim automatically corrects the trim and heel of the boat when I joystick - as an option - which integrates docking to facilitate docking manoeuvres.
