What happened on your bodies of water this weekend (June 22-23, 2019)?

If you missed them, here is a summary of the races that took place during the first weekend of summer 2019.

Duo Cat Amania 2019 (June 15 to 21)

For 6 days, 50 crews (48 in the end) raced along the Morbihan and Finistère coasts. They reached their starting port, Le Crouesty, after a last race under the sun to close a week of racing.

The big winner of this edition is the A35 Realax, skippered by Jean-Yves le Goff. The latter was accompanied for the occasion by Alexandre Ozon, a well-known double-handed racer who is always at the front.

Mini Fastnet (June 10 to 22)

The award ceremony of the Mini Fastnet took place this Friday, June 21. This 34th edition will be marked by a new record of the event. Alex Tréhin and Thomas Coville have achieved an express victory with a race time of 3 days 4 h 58 min and 26 s. This crossing of the English Channel in Dantean conditions will have resulted in a good ten retirements.

The two Fastnet champions are Axel Tréhin in the proto class and Ambrogio Beccaria in the series.

Sail GP (June 21-23)

The 3rd leg of the Sail GP circuit took place this first weekend of summer in New York, on the Hudson Bay, bordered by skyscrapers in extreme conditions with shifting winds and strong gusts.

After a podium finish and several good starts, the French finished on a new 5 e place. A disappointment for Billy Besson's French crew.

Tour de Ré (June 22)

The Tour de Ré took place this Saturday, June 22 and welcomed 200 boats and 1200 participants spread over three different courses. The Tour de Ré euros by the south face with passage of the lighthouses of Chanchardon and Baleinaux euros with a return by the Pertuis Breton is reserved for sailboats of a length higher than 6,20 m.

The Petit Tour de Ré is a course in the Pertuis reserved for boats designed to sail within 6 miles of the coast. Finally, the Rallye du Tour de Ré follows the same course as the Tour de Ré or the Petit Tour but does not give rise to a ranking.

The start was given this Saturday under the radiant sun of La Rochelle in an easterly wind of around 9 knots. The Class40 AÏna Enfance et Avenir, regional of the stage, was present.

The Solitaire Urgo Le Figaro

The start of the 4th and final leg of the Solitaire Urgo Le Figaro was given this Saturday, June 22 at 4:15 pm in an unstable wind of about ten knots. On the program is a 500-mile course between Morlaix and Dieppe, which promises to be tough on the nerves, and which will determine the winner of this 50th edition.
