Les Voiles d'Automne get ready in Saint-Tropez
After the Voiles de Saint-Tropez, the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez is gearing up for the Voiles d'Automne from November 9 to 11, 2024, with 3 days of racing, including a night race, weather permitting, on Saturday November 9. Open to sailboats with an Osiris or IRC measurement certificate, the event welcomes for the 3rd year a fleet of crewed First 31.7s. With 1 month to go, some thirty boats have already registered.

Fabrice Amedeo's IMOCA pedagogic boat baptism
October 19, 2024 marks the opening of the Vendée Globe village in Les Sables-d'Olonne. It's also the day Fabrice Amedeo has chosen to inaugurate his educational IMOCA dedicated to ocean preservation and energy saving. A festive time of sharing will begin at 3:30pm, in the presence of Jérémy Frerot, sponsor of the educational boat and singer, and in the presence of Alain Leboeuf, President of the Conseil Départemental de Vendée and President of the SAEM organizing the Vendée Globe. The boat will be on display in the heart of the village for the duration of the opening and will be open to visitors.
End of sporting season for Gitana Team
A week after her dismasting, the Maxi Edmond de Rothschild returned to her home port of Lorient after a 5-day delivery trip. The return, which was witnessed by all the members of Team Gitana, marks the end of the story for the team and the boat. Indeed, the team is giving up its Jules Verne Trophy and ending its sporting season.

Make way for ACT 5 of the Ocean Fifty
The 9 Ocean Fifty boats taking part in the Ocean Fifty Series Championship have reached Saint-Maxime for the final round of the race. While Sébastien Rogues (Primonial) currently leads the provisional overall standings by 6 points over Erwan Le Roux (Koesio), he needs to be vigilant and finish without any setbacks. Koesio himself has a 6-point lead over Viabilis Océans (Baptiste Hulin), who is unlikely to steal the runner-up spot from him. 3rd place is therefore in great demand, and Solidaires En Peloton (Thibaut Vauchel-Camus) and Realites (Fabrice Cahierc) will be doing everything in their power to grab it. The inshore regattas in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez take place on October 17 and 18, 2024, before the offshore regattas, coastal course, on October 19 and 20, 2024.

Looking ahead to the next SailGP season
The 2024-2025 SailGP season kicks off on November 23 and 24 in Dubai. A fleet of 11 F50s in the colors of 11 nations will be on the starting line for next season, but the fate of three teams remains unknown. The line-up includes two new national teams, including Brazil, which was announced earlier this year. At the same time, discussions about an Italian team led by SailGP regular Jimmy Spithill continue. Canada has also secured its future, so 9 teams have confirmed their presence for the launch of the 2024-2025 season: Brazil, Italy (pending official sale), Australia, Canada, Rockwool Den, Emirates GBR, Germany, USA and Switzerland. The two remaining F50s will be distributed to two teams from among New Zealand, France and Spain. A 12th catamaran is being built by SailGP Technologies teams in the UK and New Zealand. SailGP has confirmed that its new "high speed T-Foils" will be installed on its entire international F50 fleet in January 2025.
French Wingfoil Championship moves to Leucate
The first-ever French Wingfoil Championship will be held in Leucate, at the same time as the French Kiteboard Championship, which has already been held there since 2023. For almost 10 days, from October 20 to 27, 2024, over 200 riders will be present, with the best youngsters and the best Seniors and Masters competing in an Open category.

Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli wins Puig Women's America's Cup
The first Puig Women's America's Cup took place during the Louis Vuitton America's Cup. The aim was to showcase female sailing talent. The Italian team Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli beat the British team Athena Pathway to win the first Puig Women's America's Cup after an impressive display of composure, calm and serenity at the highest level.
