Ambrogio Beccaria enters a new era with his IMOCA ALLAGRANDE MAPEI which he will be skippering for the first time on The Ocean Race Europe from August 10. Objective: to prepare for the Vendée Globe 2028. After an express repair in Lorient, the âeuros sailboat, formerly VULNERABLE âeuros now sports the Mapei colors and a refined design. On board, an experienced and international crew, reinforced on certain stages, embodies the sporting ambitions of the project. Committed to the environment, Beccaria will also be leading a scientific mission on microplastics, in partnership with the Politecnico di Milano and The Ocean Race.

Benoît Marie dominated the 2nd leg of the PURU Transgascogne between Gijon and Port-Bourgenay, completing the 450 miles in 1 day, 18 hours and 46 minutes. Never troubled, he widened the gap on his pursuers from the first upwind tacks, before accelerating downwind. By winning this 20th edition, the skipper of Nicomatic-Petit Bateau signs its 7th consecutive victory of the season and is positioned as an ultra-favorite for the Boulangère Mini Transat, which starts on September 21.
Team Banque Populaire opens its doors to the French Olympic Sailing Team in Lorient
In Lorient, Team Banque Populaire welcomed the French Olympic sailing team for two days of technical and human exchanges, as part of the "Journées de la Perf'". The aim was to share expertise and performance tools, with a view to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. A visit to the Maxi Banque Populaire XI, workshops on composites and simulators... the athletes enjoyed a full program. An exemplary collaboration, hailed by Armel Le Cléac'h and the French Sailing Federation, illustrating the complementary relationship between ocean racing and the Olympics.

Transat Café L'Or seeks its future home for 2027
The Transat Café L'Or Le Havre Normandie is launching a call for entries to designate its next destination for the 2027 edition. After stopovers in Martinique, Colombia, Brazil and Costa Rica, the legendary double-handed transatlantic race aims to continue weaving a link between Le Havre and a coffee-growing region in the Caribbean, Central or South America. Interested cities have until October 30, 2025 to submit their bids. The chosen finish will be announced at the end of 2026, prior to the start of the 2027 edition, which will bring together almost 100 skippers in four major classes (ULTIM, IMOCA, Ocean Fifty and Class40).
The Rolex Fastnet Race celebrates its 100th anniversary with a record edition from Cowes
The Rolex Fastnet Race celebrates its centenary this Saturday, July 26, with a start at 12:10 p.m. (French time) from Cowes, on the Isle of Wight. More than 450 boats and 3,500 sailors are entered in this legendary 695-mile race, between the Fastnet Rock and Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, the finishing port for the third consecutive time. Cherbourg also hosts the official village until August 1, in a maritime festive atmosphere. Among the entries: IMOCA, Class40, Ocean Fifty, ULTIM and an impressive IRC fleet, with the prestigious Line Honor in its sights. A historic edition to keep an eye on!

SailGP Portsmouth: New Zealand wins, Emirates GBR narrowly misses out at home
The Sail Grand Prix de Portsmouth, round 7 of the 2025 season, offered a spectacular weekend of racing in front of over 20,000 spectators. Although the British team, led by Dylan Fletcher, dominated on home turf at the end of the first day, it was Peter Burling's New Zealand team that came out on top in the three-way final, ahead of Emirates GBR and Switzerland, competing in their first-ever final. Heroes of the weekend, the French made an impressive comeback on Sunday after a broken wing left them stranded on Saturday, even claiming a heat victory.
