Support the SNSM by participating in the Tour of Belle-Île 2018

On 23 June 2018, the SNSM is organizing a major national event to support the volunteers of the National Lifesaving Society at Sea: the Mille SNSM. The idea? To travel a symbolic nautical mile by arm or wind force. To support the association, the Tour de Belle-Île, which will take place on June 2 and will bring together the largest number of participants, will drop a symbolic SNSM buoy so that the fleet can sail this symbolic mile.

The Belle-Île Tower - which brings together the largest number of boats participating in a regatta in France - is supporting the SNSM for its next edition, which will take place on June 2nd. For its 10 e edition, once again more than 400 boats (and nearly 3,000 participants) are expected in the Bay of Quiberon: amateurs, professionals, sailing boats of 6 m and over, IMOCA monohulls, Ultimate..

"Each of the 3,000 participants in our event may one day need Sea Rescue. Naturally, we support the SNSM THOUSAND and we are happy to be able to unite the public and our participants around this great National Maritime Lifeguard Day on 23 June 2018", says Aurélie Pilliard, organizer of the Tour de Belle-Île.

Thus, on the first Saturday in June, an SNSM buoy will be moored at the exit of the channel at La Trinité-sur-Mer to allow all the boats participating in the Tour de Belle-Île, gathered on the same starting line, to symbolically cover one nautical mile for the SNSM.
