Beautiful people in Belle-Ile
This Saturday, May 18, 2019, Quiberon Bay will be the setting for one of the biggest regattas in France. Professional and amateur sailors are gathered for a day of racing with family or friends around Belle-Île. Open to all sailboats of at least 6 m in length, this course will bring together around 400 boats - monohulls and multihulls - and nearly 2500 participants on the starting line for two courses. The 42-mile Grand Tour and the 37-mile Petit Tour.
If hundreds of boaters come to spend a good time on the water, it is also an opportunity for them to race alongside famous sailors. Thus, we will find Yves le Blévec (Actual Leader) on his giant trimaran, Sam Davies (Initiatives C?ur) or Romain Attanasion (Pure), Arnaud Boissières (La Mie Câline - Artipôle), Thibaut Vauchel-Camus on his Multi50 Solidaires en Peloton-Arsep or Jean Galfione on his Class40 Serenis Consulting.

Promoting the circular economy
The circular economy is an economic concept aimed at limiting resource waste and environmental impact. It could be summarized as: reduce, reuse and recycle.
To limit its environmental footprint and promote this concept, the Tour de Belle-Île has implemented concrete actions ashore, as explained by Aurélie Pilliard, organizer of the event.
"This year, we are setting up the event in an existing venue at the Zing Café in La Trinité-sur-Mer rather than setting up a large tent. We reuse signage, we have removed plastic packaging bags from clothing and pavilions and we have printed the 2019 posters on the remaining posters from previous editions. We will also collect and recycle cigarette butts and organize with the association Les Mains Dans Le Sable, a major beach clean-up for the families of participants in the TOUR DE BELLE-ILE on Saturday, May 18, starting at 2 p.m."
"These are some of the initiatives we are implementing that will not change the format of the event. Our participants come to share an original day of racing around Belle-Île amidst the stars of ocean racing and enjoy a warm evening with family or friends. And that, I guarantee you that it will not change pas?! On the other hand, we will have reduced our environmental footprint, concludes Aurélie Pilliard.
