Test / Clubman 28, a truly playful family inboard

Joker Boat presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival two new RIBs, including the Clubman 28 EFB, a replica of the 28 but in an inboard version, which we were able to test in the bay, and which turns out to be sporty.

The Clubman 28 EFB (inboard) was presented for the first time in Cannes by HEP, exclusive importer of the Joker Boat brand. This new boat is not in itself a total revolution, as it is almost a replica of the Clubman 28, the flagship product of the Clubman range, but in an inboard version.

On the EFB 28 Clubman, with a length of 8.50 m, the cockpit layout is a little different than on the outboard version. While the outboard version has a cockpit table to create a saloon at the stern, the inboard version does not.

On this model, there is a large rear sundeck with a removable backrest. Thus, two versions are available, either a sundeck plus a bench seat, or just a large sundeck with two seats on each side of the boat. The inboard engine is located in the locker under the sundeck, which opens with electric cylinders.

A small tilting table attached to the aft surface of the leaning-post creates a saloon in the rear area of the boat. Under the pilot seats (which can accommodate 2 pilots), there is a small kitchenette with a stove and a sink. The central console contains a small bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. For the front layout, you can choose between a second sundeck or a saloon.

One of the advantages of the Joker Clubman 28 EFB is its large swim platform for easier access to the water at anchor. It also makes boarding easier.

The Clubman 28 EFB also offers standard equipment usually offered as options, such as fridge, sun awning, electric windlass, sound system with 4 speakers, ski hook, etc.

With its walk-around layout, large bow and stern sunbathing areas, and galley and head, the Clubman 28 EFB is a spacious RIB ideal for a family.

At sea, in calm weather with 3 people on board, the Clubman 28 EFB, powered by a 370 HP Mercruiser (4.2 L) is comfortable, stable, does not bang and responds well to changes in direction. The boat has a real acceleration capacity and is fast at tipping, which allows it to go fast, very fast. The noise of the inboard motorization is pleasant, with a nice purr. The Clubman 28 EFB has a real feeling of speed, perhaps because of the windward grip (no bimini when sailing). Note the strong angle when changing direction.
