A sportop for the sport version of the Monte Carlo 6

Bénéteau's Monte Carlo range will be expanded in September 2016 with a new model, the MC6S, the sports version of the MC6, presented in January 2015 at the Boot in Düsseldorf. This motorboat is the 6th model in the Monte Carlo range, created just 3 years ago. Instead of the flybridge that characterizes the Monte Carlo range, the sport version will have an open sportop.

Like the MC6, the MC6S has a very pronounced V-shaped hull that allows it to launch at high speeds. This 18.35 m model has a tulip hull design with round portholes, which recall the codes of yachting. Its profiled windscreen and the numerous glazings that surround the cabin make it bright and stylish.

The sport version of the MC6 has not a flybridge but a sportop that can be accessed from a staircase in the cockpit to starboard. At the front is a dining area with a very large U-shaped bench seat and at the back is a sunbathing area. On the main deck, the bow of the boat can accommodate a sunbathing area while the cockpit is fully secured thanks to a large garage with a dinette. A swimming platform facilitates access to swimming and mooring.

Sliding glass doors create a large cockpit/cabin area when opened and provide plenty of closed light. On the main deck, there is the galley facing the cockpit to starboard, the sofa to port and the dining area to starboard. In the centre of the boat is the cockpit, with passenger seat to port. Access to the cabins is by a staircase to starboard. The cockpit is located just below the opening of the sportop and can therefore enjoy the sun on sunny days.

On the lower floor, several facilities are proposed, with an owner's suite with an open shower room located at the back of the boat. The MC6S is available in a two- or three-cabin version plus a crew cabin.

The boat designed by the Italian duo Nuvolari-Lenard has materials inspired by the world of yachting. Thus we find interior joinery in brushed oak, exterior wood in teak.

When sailing, the MC6 with two Cummins 600HP engines has a top speed of 28 knots. The Zeus pod system improves the boat's performance and provides 30% fuel economy, 15% faster cruising speed and 15% higher top speed compared to the traditional shaft line system.

It will take September and the Cannes Yachting Festival to discover the MC6S.
