The year 2016 will be a busy one for Lagoon as the yard will present two new catamarans - one sailing and the other motor. The shipyard remains very mysterious on these new large yachts, distilling information in droves on their dedicated sites. Here are the first images of the Seventy 8, which will be launched in 2017.

The Seventy 7 (sailboat) and Seventy 8 (motor yacht) have common characteristics, namely ease of movement on board, space to accommodate the crew and diversity of locations to provide privacy or friendliness for everyone. To make maximum use of the spaces, the foredeck can be accessed from the cockpit through the saloon.

The sailing programme for both multihulls will be the same: family sailing, sailing with friends or charter.

With a length of 23.80 m, the Seventy 8 will be the largest model on site and will have 8 to 14 berths. A layout that is perfectly suited to charter.

But its new dimensions will also make it possible to introduce new features, such as a side door that will open directly from the cabin to create a balcony on the water.

The architecture and design will be much more refined and proportionate, as announced by the site. The upper portholes in the shape of a visor will be elongated and curved for more glass surface, the bow will have a bevelled appearance that will give it more fluidity, and finally the design will have more curves, tighter lines... The exterior design will be carried out by Patrick le Quément, former director of industrial design at Renault.

The interior design will be carried out by designer Massimo Gino, designer at Nauta Design, in collaboration with naval architect Marc Van Peteghem (VPLP) and Patrick Le Quément. The idea is to create a harmony between the outside and the inside," says the designer.

Thus, there are passages between the aft cockpit and the saloon or between the owner's saloon and the forward cockpit. The lounge will be almost entirely glazed to provide maximum light and to allow passengers to have an unobstructed view.

Two VIP cabins can be transformed into a meeting room or cinema, the kitchen can be placed forward or aft, with adjacent cabins for the captain and crew. The owner's cabin is located either on the main or lower deck where the cabins are located, the two or three guest or VIP cabins, with queen size, twin or retractable beds.
