For the 9 eme once again, Bordeaux Grands Evènements celebrates the Garonne and the quays by organizing the event "Bordeaux celebrates the river". The nautical activity of the city is in full growth since a few years âeuros river tourism in strong growth, big liners in stopover, tourism on the river. The Garonne is now a key element in the influence of the Bordeaux metropolis. In 2013, a new milestone was reached, since from now on, at the same time as the great mass of Bordeaux celebrates the river, the event of the Grand Départ of the Solitaire du Figaro is held.

From May 22 to 31, over nearly 2 kilometers, the quays will be celebrating to offer to nautical enthusiasts but also to walkers and tourists sports, fun and cultural activities: a large pine cabin of Landes which will house exhibitions and works, original nautical walks, free concerts, animated and gourmet villages, spectacular Prologue of the Grand Départ of the Solitaire du Figaro, on Saturday, May 30 and a fireworks display to close.
On the evening of May 22nd, the light and fireworks parade "La parade des héros" took place to welcome the 40 skippers of the Solitaire du Figaro.
