24h Ultim, the first Ultim meeting after the round-the-world race

From September 6 to 8, 2024, the Ultims will be taking part in the 24h Ultim in Groix. This event was born of a desire on the part of the sailors to have an annual, recurring meeting, like the back-to-school confrontation. Actual Ultim 3, Maxi Banque Populaire XI, Maxi Edmond de Rothschild, Sodebo Ultim 3 and SVR-Lazartigue will set off on a 500-mile course, runs for a 24h loop. The competition kicked off this Friday, September 6, with 4 runs scheduled for the 5 giant trimarans off the Pointe du Talud with a good easterly wind of 10-18 knots, turning east-northeast in the afternoon. The Maxi Edmond de Rothschild put in the best performance, peaking at 37 knots.

France's America's Cup hopes in tatters

After their victory over the Americans, the Swiss crew of Alinghi, tied on points with Orient Express Team, moved ahead of the French crew. In difficulty, they must win at least 2 races to avoid being the first challenger to be eliminated from the Louis Vuitton Cup 204 .

Golden Globe Race 2026, already 29 entries

29 sailors from 12 countries, including 2 women and the first Generation Z participant, have signed up for the Golden Globe Race 2026. The organizers are looking for a partner to guarantee the race's position beyond 2030.

Tom Dolan wins the second leg of the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec

Tom Dolan (Smurfit Kappa - Kingspan) crossed the finish line in Royan in 1st place this Wednesday, September 4th at 14h 06min 20sec french time. It took him 2 days 23 hours 44 minutes and 20 seconds to complete the theoretical 515-mile second leg of the 55th La Solitaire du Figaro Paprec. At the same time, he won the Vivi Trophy (1st non-French to cross the finish line). A race in which he took the lead from the very first night, and which he controlled perfectly right to the end. Gaton Morvan (Région Bretagne - CMB Performance) and Charlotte Yven (Skipper Macif 2023) completed the podium. Tom Garon (Navaleo) crossed the finish line in 11th position and as the first rookie. He thus wins the Bénéteau Rookie Trophy.

Repairs underway for Ocean Fifty Le rire Médecin-Lamotte

Luke Berry and his crew abandoned the Route des Terre-Neuvas after a leak was discovered on board Ocean Fifty Le rire Médecin-Lamotte on August 18. They managed to reach the Azores, and now it's time for repairs on the spot to gain time and hope to take part in the other races. The crack in the starboard float needs to be plugged, and some damage caused by rushing water needs to be repaired. The work will be carried out without taking the boat out of the water.

A crew program for Sodebo and Thomas Coville

After a second-place finish in the Arkea Ultim Challenge, Thomas Coville unveils his program for the end of 2024. The skipper has chosen a crewed format for the season, with the 24h Ultim in Lorient (September 5-8), La Finistère Atlantique between Concarneau and Antibes (departure September 28) and finally the quest for the Jules Verne Trophy, with a stand-by from early November.

TF35 Trophy - Grand Prix Les Voiles de Choisi

Lac Léman played host to the Grand Prix Les Voiles de Choisi as the TF35 season resumed. Over the 3 days of the Grand Prix, four starts were given on Friday in irregular winds, no races on Saturday and only one regatta on Sunday. Esteban Garcia's Realteam Sailing skippers, led by Jérôme Clerc and tactician Sébastien Col, won the event by five points over Yann Guichard's Sails of Change 8. The two crews remain tied in the overall season standings.

Victorien Eon wins the French Espoirs Sailing Championship

After 9 days of racing, the Championnat de France Espoirs de Voile came to a close on Saturday August 31, 2024 in the heart of La Rochelle's Vieux Port. After the 600 youngsters in dinghies and keelboats for the first part of the Championship, the 20 crews of the Flotte Partagée took over in the J80s. Pornic Team Jeune, represented by Victorien Éon, Jules Poupin and the three Maels (Thomas, Dieuleveux and Clochard), won the 4 days of racing, after 15 hard-fought races. Victorien Éon and Jules Poupin had also taken silver a few days earlier in the Open 570.
