Knowing that the maximum score is 120, the event has enough to attract the curiousâeuros¦ Saint-Malo will be one of the cities or the tidal range (difference of water between high and low tide) will be the most important since it will be 13.20 m.

The high tides are spectacular, but they are no less dangerous if you do not respect some safety rules or if you simply do not use your common sense. The city of Saint-Malo has therefore set up a major awareness operation. " At City Hall, we communicated on the spectacle aspect of the big tides, but coupling this message with safety instructions" explains Arnaud Le Vacon. The city has therefore published a flyer with all the safety instructions. " This flyer has been distributed throughout the city, to local residents, hotels and restaurants along the cÃ'teâeuros¦ and includes all the vigilance and safety rules to be respected during these episodes of high water."

Not wishing to take any risks, the City Council has taken it upon itself to alert the people and the many tourists who come to attend the event. " When the tide is at its highest, city police will be on hand to keep people safe."

The impact of the high tides is enormous on the tourist activity, the restaurants of sea front, but also the hotels were taken by storm.

On the material level, damage can happen like flooded cellars of waterfront houses, broken windows. " People have been warned, there has been a lot of prevention work. The main thing is that there are mostly no injuries."

Finally, for the curious who would like to enjoy the spectacle of the waves in complete safety, the City of Saint-Malo advises " The ideal way to enjoy the high tide is on the seawall, the Sillon on the other side of the street, taking a step back and listening to the security forces present. If, of course, the weather conditions allow it."
