From Friday 19 to Sunday 21 September, the first edition of the Sosh Legend Games will take place in La Rochelle to introduce board sports and eco-citizenship to underprivileged children. Activities will take place all day long on the water but also on land with two pools, one for wakeboarding and a floor for skateboarding and BMX.
Surf Insertion, a key partner of the Sosh Legends Games
Surf Insertion is an association whose goal is to help young people in difficulty discover surfing and the importance of the richness of the coastline and its preservation. During three days, 50 children from underprivileged neighborhoods and rural areas will have the chance to practice surfing sports but also to meet great names of the surfing world, including the godfather of the edition, Robby Naish, international celebrity of surfing sports.
The practice of surfing against a background of eco-citizenship
For Surf Insertion, many parents, from rural areas and working class neighborhoods, do not have the means to offer their children to practice leisure activities, essential to their balance. It is on this observation that the association, convinced by the capacity of surfing to convey strong values and eco-citizen principles, decided to launch a program to share the practice of board sports to these young people. Thus, through the practice, they will also develop important values for Surf Insertion such as humility, cooperation, mutual aid, sharing, surpassing oneself and self-knowledge as well as respect for others, oneself but also for the equipment.
Prestigious guests from the world of snowboarding
Numerous figures from the world of snowboarding will also be present for this first edition of the Sosh Legends Games, as the association's sponsor, the Grand Pavois or simply to share their know-how with the children and support the association. We will be able to count on the presence of Antoine Albeau, 21 times world champion windsurfer, sponsor of the association and co-sponsor of the Grand Pavois, François Gabart, winner of the last Vendée Globe and co-sponsor of the Grand Pavois, Robert Tériitehau, world champion windsurfer and then funboarder, Matthias Dandois, multiple world champion BMX and many othersâeuros¦
Many competitions and Beach Races on the program
A stand-up paddle downwind will bring together all the champions present during the three days of the Sosh Legends Games without forgetting the numerous Beach Races that will be organized just in front of the "Beach".
