Grand Pavois 2024, the must-attend event on the Atlantic coast
The Grand Pavois de La Rochelle is one of France's leading in-water boat shows. From October 1 to 6, visitors can discover the latest innovations and trends in the boating world. For this 52nd edition, more than 800 brands and 700 boats will be on display, representing the showcase of the marine industry, not to mention equipment manufacturers, engine builders and various associated services. The space on land for exhibiting boats has also been increased, occupying the entire perimeter of the exhibition area afloat.
This year, the organization has set up a QR code to enable you to find the show program day by day, as well as an interactive map.

Thematic areas
The Grand Pavois is divided into several themed areas to meet the needs of different audiences. Here's an overview of the main areas to visit:
Grand Pavois Beach
New for 2024, this area dedicated to water sports is located on the Minimes beach. From Thursday to Sunday, you'll be able to watch demonstrations, take part in water sports baptisms such as windfoil, paddle or kayak, and meet champions. Conferences and screenings are also planned to enrich visitors' experience.
Rental & Cruising
For those considering chartering boats for cruises, this afloat space - also new in 2024 - is the ideal place. You'll discover a wide range of boats available for charter, and professionals to advise you.
Espace Pêche & Grand Pavois Fishing
Created in 2008, the Espace Pêche has become a must-see with its animation stage, demonstration basin, dedicated exhibitors and gallery of fishing boats. A dedicated marina allows sea trials from 10am to 7pm. The Grand Pavois Fishing, reserved exclusively for brands, has also become a familiar sight. It takes place on Friday and Sunday mornings from 8am to 1pm, and features a no-kill competition. 33 brand teams are expected to take part in this 2024 edition, including several new brands.
Eco-navigation and Sustainable Innovations with EDF
The nautical sector is committed to the ecological transition, and this area showcases sustainable technologies. Among the 50 exhibitors, you'll find electric boats, hybrid propulsion solutions and innovations such as solar sailcloth for both afloat and ashore. Its new impalement is located at the entrance to the show.
Espace Héritage et Savoir-faire
Initially named the Patrimoine & Tradition area, this space showcases restored heritage boats that bear witness to maritime history, as well as related trades. You'll see classic yachts and emblematic units, some of which are listed as Monuments Historiques, such as Gérard Janichon's famous Damien.
For this 52nd edition, the Basque Country in the spotlight the 750 m2 hall has been set aside for the occasion, and will feature the reconstruction of a village with all its local colors. There will also be a market of local producers, traditional dance demonstrations, songs and exhibitions...

Highlights not to be missed
Several events punctuate the show every day. Throughout the week, numerous meetings, film screenings and round-table discussions will punctuate the days in addition to the visits. Here are just a few of the highlights:
- Vendée Globe 2024 the event will include meetings with local skippers Yannick Bestaven, Antoine Cornac and Arnaud Boissières. Maxime Sorel will also be present on October 5 for the screening of his film "Mon Double Everest" at Grand Pavois Beach.
- Voiles de Nuit on Saturday, October 5, enjoy a unique pyrodigital show with a boat parade starting at 6.30pm, followed by fireworks at 8pm.
- Meeting with Charline Picon and Sarah Steyaert these Olympic sailing champions will be on hand to chat with the public on Saturday, October 5 at 4 p.m. .
- Round table on maritime decarbonation on Thursday, October 3 at 10:30 a.m., EDF will host a discussion on solutions to reduce the carbon footprint of the maritime sector
Practical information
The show takes place at the Port des Minimes in La Rochelle, with opening hours from 10 am to 7 pm. The show closes at 6 pm on Sunday, October 6. Parking and shuttle buses are available for easy access to the site. Admission is charged, but reduced rates are available for families and groups.
