Marcopolo, a new Italian brand, announces 2 models of 10 and 12 m motorboats

The MP10 and MP12 from Marcopolo Adventure Yachts herald a new approach to modern cruising. Designed for adventure, built in Sicily and meticulously crafted, they look forward to creating a sensation at the next Düsseldorf boat show in January 2026.

Italian shipyards are not lacking in character, but Villafranca Tirrena's approach is very much its own. With its first two 10- and 12-meter models, expected at Boot Düsseldorf 2026, Marcopolo Adventure Yachts presents a vision of modern cruising.

A military silhouette, but a cruising logic

The design of the MP10 and MP12 stands out at first glance. Inverted windshield, pronounced freeboards, flat surfaces, low superstructures: one is reminded of a military launch. But this aesthetic conceals a highly functional deck layout. The pronounced width at the bow allows for real circulation, the side decks are safe, and folding elements at the stern extend the living space at anchor.

For Nordic and continental markets, the brand will offer a cruiser version with full protection, while Mediterranean customers can opt for an open version.

Outboard motorization: an assertive choice

Where many shipyards would have opted for conventional inboard propulsion, Marcopolo has chosen the outboard. Available in double or triple versions, depending on size, the engines offer simplified access for maintenance, space-saving on board and performance adapted to the adventure program. It's also a way of targeting the market for lakes or emission-regulated areas.

The design of the hull, with its longitudinal steps, has been thought out to improve dynamic stability and reduce fuel consumption. Roberto Delfanti, the project's designer, insists on the attention paid to performance in rough seas.

High value-added construction

The 3AF yard, located in Sicily, is not a newcomer. Specializing in technical units, it is working here with young architects and an in-house design office. One of the project's original features is the choice of materials. A number of resins, wood species and textiles not yet widely used in the boating industry are being integrated. The aim is to increase both weight and durability.

The pre-production model will be unveiled to the public with an almost definitive construction plan, but some details may change depending on local regulations and test feedback.

A family business with a clear strategy

Rosario Alcaro, head of Marcopolo Adventure Yachts, insists on a human-scale strategy: production on a single site, a small but expert team, a short circuit and rational customization. No yachts over 15 meters are planned in the short term. The aim is to create a range of 3 to 4 models aimed at customers seeking robust comfort, assertive design and active sailing in all zones.
