In Ameglia, in the Gulf of La Spezia, the West Navaltech shipyard launches a new brand: Forte Yachts. Renowned for its expertise in the construction of professional aluminum vessels, the Italian company is now transferring its know-how to the yachting sector. The Strong 47 the first model in the range, offers two distinct but complementary variants: the Gran Turismo motorized outboard and Lounge Deck equipped with IPS pods.
Choosing aluminium: rigorous construction and freedom of design
The hull of the Strong 47 is made entirely of 5083 H111 marine aluminum. This corrosion-resistant material enables precise welded joints, sharp shapes and a robust structure. West Navaltech has made it its expertise, delivering professional units up to 50 meters long.
The use of aluminum also offers greater scope for future adaptations. Variations can be envisaged without having to modify the molds. This flexibility is particularly interesting for a semi-custom series of this size.

Two propulsion philosophies: outboard or IPS pods
Visit Strong 47 is available with two engine options that have a direct impact on the navigation program:
-
Gran Turismo 3 x 350 hp Mercury Verado V10 outboard. This configuration allows high speeds and easy maintenance. The interior space benefits from a rear bulkhead opening onto the cockpit.
-
Lounge Deck 2 x Volvo Penta D6 IPS 650. This version focuses on joystick-controlled maneuverability in tight spaces, with a hull optimized for stability. The cockpit is more integrated with the rest of the boat, with a fixed L-shaped bench seat.
Both models have a fuel tank capacity of 2,000 liters, and a freshwater capacity of 400 liters.

Fittings: a treatment worthy of luxury yachts
The interior was designed by Marco Veglia while the exterior lines are signed Pietro Giordano ( Yacht Design ). The main deck is open and flexible: bar, outdoor galley, starboard helm station, convertible saloon. A rigid bimini with opening roof completes the layout.
Below deck, a large owner's cabin and washroom occupy the entire bow. The interior design adopts a minimalist aesthetic, with indirect lighting and wood-matte/laminate finishes.
The deck layout can be converted to day-boat or weekender use, depending on the user's schedule. Opening side platforms increase the aft berth area.

Hull and plans: a design for the Mediterranean
Overall length is 14.36 m, with a beam of 4.51 m. The outboard version's draught is limited to 0.94 m. Displacement varies between 13 and 14 tons, depending on motorization.
The hull design, with its pronounced step and fine water inlets, has been optimized for fast, stable sailing on rough seas, typical of Mediterranean coasts. The integrated propeller tunnel (IPS version) enhances pod efficiency.
A site that capitalizes on its industrial expertise
West Navaltech is no newcomer. Located near Miglio Blu, the shipyard works with many of the big names in Italian shipbuilding. It manufactures superstructures, watertight doors and hulls for professional units.
With Forte Yachts, the aim is to dissociate military and industrial production from a yachting sector where customization and user experience take precedence over functional imperatives. Visit Strong 47 becomes the first link in a growing range.
