Lowlander Boats is a young Dutch boatyard with a different approach to pleasure boating. Founded by three enthusiasts with complementary backgrounds, the company's premium positioning is inspired by classic automobiles. Its first model, the Speedster 851 is an 8.61 m dayboat with a central cockpit, triplane stepped hull and neo-classical styling.

A young site with a strong industrial vision
Founded in the Netherlands, Lowlander is seeking to establish itself in the high-end customizable dayboat segment. Its first model, the Speedster 851, was designed to combine sailing performance, on-board comfort and attractive design. The shipyard's strategy is based on limited series production, combined with a high degree of customization: choice of hull colors, upholstery, flooring and optional equipment. This approach enables the company to stand out in a competitive market, while appealing to an international clientele sensitive to style and originality.

A stepped hull for optimum performance
The Speedster 851 is based on a triplane step hull, a technique derived from racing boats. This hull design reduces the wetted surface area, generating a low-pressure effect under the boat, and thus improving speed and fuel consumption at a given rpm. This type of hull requires a great deal of upstream optimization work, including CFD simulations and prototype testing. According to the shipyard, each step has been calibrated to guarantee stability in curves and comfort in heavy seas.
Two Volvo Penta engines to target applications and markets

Two versions are available: Speedster Base with a 280 hp V6 block and Speedster Performance 350 hp V8, with optional Forward Drive transmission. The latter enhances low-speed maneuverability and allows safer use for towed sports. The Performance version also includes Humphree's Interceptor System, with automatic trim adjustment. The range covers a broad spectrum, from high-end rental to private boating and semi-offshore sailing.
Modularity and equipment for versatile use

The automotive-inspired central cockpit seats up to 16 people. The ergonomic pilot console, height-adjustable seat and centralized digital controls are designed to make it easy to get to grips with the boat. At the stern, the deck is extended by a wide bathing platform. The cabin features a double berth with reclining mattresses and separate sanitary area, including sink, toilet and 230 V sockets. The design favors sturdy materials, with Evercor flooring and integrated LED lighting.
A price designed for distribution
The Speedster 851 is designed to be quickly adapted to regional preferences. The Base and Performance versions are clearly segmented, and the list of options allows adaptation to different buyer profiles. The shipyard emphasizes a personalized series logic, facilitating the work of distributors. The precision-molded polyester hull allows repeatable production with a high level of finish. The model is priced from ?188,400 ex VAT (Base) to around ?230,000 ex VAT, depending on engine and Performance options.
