Technohull Alpha 40: a 12-metre Dynastream hull designed for speed and comfort

Presented in June 2025, the Technohull Alpha 40 is aimed at yachtsmen seeking speed and comfort on board. With its 12.10-meter length, step hull and muscular outboard engines, this model combines Mediterranean style with sporty cruising.

With the launch of the Alpha 40, the Greek shipyard Technohull offers a semi-rigid offshore cruiser in a configuration typical of day cruising. The boat is aimed at a seasoned clientele, often owners of a berth, who appreciate contemporary aesthetics and performance at sea.

Designed for the Mediterranean, this 12.1-meter model is ideal for sunbathing, unobstructed movement on board and a well-protected cockpit. The presence of a carbon hardtop improves durability, while lightening the silhouette.

A hull designed to exceed 65 knots in complete stability

The Greek shipyard uses its Dynastream hull technology on this model: a deep V with double step and ventilated steps. These elements are designed to optimize lift and reduce friction at high speeds. The shipyard claims fuel consumption of between 2.6 and 3.3 liters per nautical mile at cruising speed.

Powered here by two Mercury 2 x 400 hp outboards, the Alpha 40 boasts a cruising speed of 45 knots, with a top speed of over 65 knots. Handling remains sound, thanks to good weight distribution and a forward center console that limits pitching.

Ergonomic cockpit and pleasure-oriented navigation

The cockpit is organized around a raised helm station, with full digital instrumentation, side guards and ergonomic upholstery. The lumbar supports of the seats are well designed, and visibility at sea is unobstructed, even at high speeds.

The space is designed to allow a pair to pilot comfortably and safely, keeping passengers at a safe distance from the pilot.

Onboard comfort and overnight accommodation: premium positioning

The deck layout includes wide aft bench seating, a modular table and a forward sundeck. A side gangway provides easy access to the sea. The boat is also equipped externally, with storage, kitchenette and space under the console.

Below deck, the cabin is surprisingly high (1.85 m), with a full-width double bed and independent bathroom with shower and side portholes. This volume is ideal for a comfortable overnight stay or for occasional use on a short cruise.

A model with an assertive positioning, but reserved for a specific use

Although spacious and well-built, the Alpha 40 remains a typical day-boat. Its storage capacity is reduced, and its fuel tanks limit long distances without refueling. The model's primary vocation remains fast day cruising, with a planned return to port or stopover.

The equipment is of a good standard, but certain options can add to the bill without any significant gain in range or habitability.
