Test / Four Winns H2e, a classic deck layout with top-of-the-range features

The Four Winns H2e is a typical bow rider

At first glance, the H2e appears to be a bow-rider with a fairly classic layout. However, a closer look reveals a number of clever features that make life on board much easier. Follow us for a complete tour in this second part.

Designed for family use, whether for cruising, skiing, towing a buoy, or going to a restaurant on the other side of the lake or bay, the H2 offers a relatively conventional interior for a small sport boat. Seating is found almost all around the cockpit, with plenty of storage space underneath, including a cooler and a waste garbage can. On the port side, a reversible backrest allows you to sit in the co-pilot's position or enjoy a meridian-style seat.

An opening in the windshield gives access to the small bow-rider, which comfortably accommodates two or three people, with storage space under the seats and even an anchor locker, alas, with no davits or slack lines. Good point, however, for the doors that close off the passage between the bow-rider and the cockpit, since they remain in the position you leave them, without flapping while you're sailing.

A modular solarium

The stern is dedicated for sunbathing and nautical activities, with an appropriately sized sunbath with a part that can be raised to provide access to the swimming platform. This platform is perfect for swimming or water sports. What's more, it's usable even in the outboard version, since the motor is bracket-mounted, leaving plenty of space on the platform.

Despite its size, the Four Winns has plenty of storage space. In addition to the lockers under the seats, there are small lockers everywhere, a glove compartment that can be locked and a very large central locker for skis or wakeboards. Finally, the entire middle section of the rear bench seat (including the backrest) lifts up to give access to a huge space that can be used for storage, but also to integrate a changing room or for chemical toilets, which is pretty clever. This is also where you'll find the technical part of the motorization.

Quality materials and a fine finish

Aside from the clever layout, what strikes you first is the building quality and the finish. The boat is of course available with several trim levels, and the one we had for testing, called the "Elevate package", is quite remarkable, with top-of-the-range upholstery made with a "cool touch" fabric that won't burn even in direct sunlight.

The seams are neatly trimmed, and there is adjustable indirect lighting throughout the boat. All lockers are equipped with a locking system. The dashboard is also a model of its kind. Modern, upholstered in leather-look fabric, it can accommodate two screens and features polished aluminum switches with an aviation look, while the name of each switch is backlit.

And let's not forget the wake tower, which not only tows a wake boarder, but also supports the bimini, a real plus when the weather's hot.
