The Lucietta shuttle, presented at the Salone Nautico di Venezia 2025, is the first step in a technical reflection on the energy transition of the lagoon's cab boats. Designed as a "native electric" unit, it differs from the conversions usually proposed in retrofit projects.
An all-electric design adapted to Venetian reality

Lucietta's silhouette takes up the codes of the traditional Venetian cab while integrating the dimensional constraints imposed by the canals: 9.30 meters long, 2.25 meters wide, 2.10 meters air draft. These choices guarantee navigation without conflict with bridges or areas of reduced manoeuvrability. The design, by Nauta Yachts, also meets the aesthetic expectations of cab operators, who were consulted in advance via a questionnaire.
Electric propulsion designed for professional use

Lucietta features a 200 kW electric motor powered by a 180 kWh lithium-ion battery. While maximum speed is claimed to be 30 knots, it's in daily use at reduced speed (between 7 and 20 km/h depending on the lagoon) that the boat shows its relevance: autonomy of one day without recharging. No noise, no vibration, no emissions.
A hybrid of traditional craftsmanship and innovative materials

Built by the Serenella shipyard in Murano, Lucietta combines traditional marine carpentry techniques with the use of advanced materials. The deck and superstructure are in wood, while the hull uses carbon for lightness and rigidity. Also of note is the use of recycled glass from Murano glassworks waste, reintegrated thanks to the know-how of start-up Rehub.
A model that can be reproduced outside the lagoon?

While Lucietta is ideally suited to Venetian navigation, its dimensions and technical characteristics mean that it can also be considered for other river or port cities. In this respect, she is an example of an urban electric boat optimized for low speeds, short distances and regulated navigation.
What are the possible professional uses for this type of unit?

With a capacity of 14 passengers, Lucietta remains a light mass transit unit, ideal for hotel transfers, river shuttles or transportation on demand. It could also find a place in assistance services or clean delivery.
A technological showcase for Repower

The Lucietta project follows on from Repowere, Repower's other electric boat. It embodies the Swiss group's commitment to clean mobility, particularly in the tourism sector. " Lucietta, a work vehicle designed to meet the needs of professionals "explains Fabio Bocchiola, Director of Repower Italia. In this sense, the model is more about sustainability and usefulness than simply showcasing our ecological credentials.
