A strong and eclectic field for the Solitaire du Figaro
The start of the 55th edition of the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec will take place on August 25, 2024. OC Sport Pen Duick unveils the line-up for the premier race of the French Elite Ocean Racing Championship. A strong, eclectic line-up, worthy of the finest editions the race has seen, with 38 skippers taking part, including 16 rookies and five foreigners. Seven duos are also competing in the first edition of the Paprec Challenge, which will take place on the first leg of the race between Rouen and Gijón (Spain).

Record on Les Sables âeuros Les Açores âeuros Les Sables
The 10th edition of Les Sables âeuros Les Açores âeuros Les Sables kicked off at 1pm on July 19 for the 71 ministries competing. The program included a first leg of 1,270 miles to Horta, which put the competitors to the test: rigging damage, autopilot problems, killer whale attack, broken mast head, keel problems... leading to several retirements, 5 in all. On July 26, leader Roman Van Anis on Be Sailing in proto is just 136 miles from the finish of the first leg, followed by Marie Gendron on Lea Nature at 150 miles and Alexandre Demange at 156 miles on DMG Mori Sailing Academy 2. In the series, Antoine Chaput on Bin Bin is 210 miles from the finish.
The race also enabled Caroline Boule on the Nicomatic proto to shatter the record for the greatest distance covered in a Mini 6.50 in 24 hours. Between 9:30 a.m. on July 23 and the same time on July 24, the skipper of the Manuard Nicomatic design covered 322.70 miles, bettering the performance achieved by Hugues de Prémare last November in the La Boulangère Mini Transat by 5.45 miles.
The final and decisive stage of the Clipper 2023-24 Race begins
The fourteenth and final race of the epic 40,000-nautical-mile Clipper 2023-24 Round the World Yacht Race began at 15:00 LT from Oban, Scotland, on July 21, 2024. The forecast southwesterly wind of 12-14 knots, with initial gusts of up to 20 knots, prompted some competitors to reduce sail. Team Perseverance, currently in second place overall, three points behind first place, crossed the line first. With only seven points separating first and third place, this final race will decide which of the top three teams - Ha Long Bay, Viet Nam, Perseverance or Zhuhai - will lift the coveted Clipper Race trophy at the Grand Final in Portsmouth on July 27, 2024.

Three new Drheam Cup winners
On Saturday, July 20, 2024, although half the fleet had already arrived safely in port, the race organization was able to celebrate 3 new winners of the Drheam Cup / Grand Prix de France de Course au large. The defending champion, Xavier Macaire's Groupe Snef, completed the Class40 double, taking just over 4 days to complete the 630-mile course. Laurent Charmy's SL Energies Groupe won the very first race for the new Sun Fast 30 One Design. Merry Dancer (Vincent Delaroche) in the Classic Yachts category also won after 4 days 22 hours 24 minutes of racing. The crew of J/99 Axe Sail with Maxime Mesnil and Hugo Feydit had a superb race, finishing in 1st place er IRC Double and 1 er IRC Overall.
