PRB returns to Figaro with Nicolas Lunven for the 2026 season

After the announced end of its Imoca program in October 2025, PRB maintains an active link with ocean racing. The Vendée-based company will accompany Nicolas Lunven on the Figaro circuit throughout the 2026 season. A symbolic return to a class that has marked the skipper's history, as well as that of the Solitaire.

After a month marked by the announcement of the end of its involvement in the Imoca class, PRB clarifies the first stage in the continuation of its sailing history. In 2026, the company will be working alongside Nicolas Lunven on the Figaro circuit, with the clear objective of competing in the Solitaire du Figaro in a particularly challenging sporting context.

A commitment to transition

PRB had announced the end of its Imoca program and the sale of the 60-footer with which Nicolas Lunven finished sixth in the last Vendée Globe. At the time, the company explained that it wanted to take the time to rethink its future commitment to sailing.
This process is ongoing. In the meantime, PRB has chosen to maintain its presence in ocean racing through a deliberately narrow project, limited to the 2026 season. This commitment is presented as a transitional one, without prejudging the future, but one that will enable the company to maintain its sporting and maritime roots.

Nicolas Lunven returns to the Solitaire

For Nicolas Lunven, this return to the Figaro has a special resonance. Twice winner of the Solitaire du Figaro in 2009 and 2017, the skipper is back in a class that has structured a large part of his career.
He will be lining up at the helm of a Figaro Bénéteau three in the PRB colors, in a context where several major figures in the circuit have already announced their participation, including Yoann Richomme and Nicolas Troussel. A strong line-up that reinforces the sporting demands of the next edition.

A sporting rethink

After several seasons in the Imoca class, Nicolas Lunven is approaching this return with caution. His last Solitaire was in 2017, and the Figaro imposes different technical and tactical codes. The skipper is talking about a real reappraisal, with the desire to confront his experience with a new generation of sailors who are already very seasoned on this support.
For him, the Figaro remains a demanding, no-nonsense arena of expression, where performance relies on precision, endurance and a keen sense of conditions.
