Saxdor 400, two versions for cruising and speed

Saxdor will introduce the Saxdor 400, its largest model, in the fall of 2023, developed in cab and GTO versions, with a hardtop. The interior configuration remains the same for both versions and offers up to 4 adult berths and the possibility to accommodate two additional children. Although designed for cruising, the Saxdor 400 will also be sporty with a top speed of between 40 and 50 knots.

A foray into the 40-foot market

Entering the market in 2020 with the launch of the Saxdor 200, the Finnish manufacturer Saxdor, whose production plant is located in Poland, is preparing to launch the largest model in its range, the Saxdor 400. Already present in the 20- and 30-foot segment, the shipyard is now investing in the 40- to 45-foot segment.

Outboard motor and high speed

It is a lengthened version of the 320's double-step hull, designed to accommodate two outboard motors. This model should combine sea keeping, performance and cruising efficiency.

By using the vacuum infusion technique, the shipyard has saved 200 kg on the final weight estimate, though it does not specify the boat's displacement. It says that with two Mercury V8 outboard engines of 300 horsepower each, the Saxdor 400 will be able to reach a top speed of 40 knots. With the optional 450 horsepower Racing engines, the top speed will exceed 50 knots.

Two versions, one interior configuration

Launched first in cabin version, then in GTO version - hard-top - this model will have tilting bulwarks in the cockpit. Contact with the water will be enhanced by the new glass transom. The fully adjustable cockpit seats will allow owners to customize the configuration according to their sailing needs.

Below deck, there is a spacious double cabin in the bow and a separate bathroom with a headroom of over 1.83 m. Both versions of the 400 offer the same interior configuration, with the possibility of having a children's cabin under the companionway, in addition to a second double cabin amidships, accessible from a hatch in the dinette in the cabin version, and via the cockpit settee on the GTO version.

As with the 320, the 400's wheelhouse spans the entire width to maximize internal living space. Access to the foredeck seating is through the door at the front. Both sides of the wheelhouse open fully to allow direct access to the side decks from inside, a feature unique to the 400.
