Nerea Yacht NY40, a sophisticated and sporty open boat

After a rather successful launch of the NY24 in 2019, the NY40 completes the range from above. This 12 m long and 4 m wide open boat takes the elegant design and sporty lines and offers a layout for sun cruising.

Sophisticated and sporty lines

The NY40 is the second, and largest, model from the Italian shipyard Nerea Yacht. At 12.19 m long, it retains the characteristic lines of the first model, the NY24. This elegant open yacht has a large decked foredeck, accessible from two steps in the cockpit and via unprotected gangways. Its lines are modern, clean and still inspired by the automotive world, for a sporty look.

The NY40, with its V-shaped hull, is also available in inboard or outboard versions. The first version is equipped with two Volvo Penta V6280 DPS diesel engines and the second version with three Mercury V300 V8 engines. These powers give it a top speed of 42 knots and a cruising speed of 35 knots. The model exhibited in Cannes was equipped with two 370 horsepower Yanmar engines.

A cockpit to accommodate 10 to 12 people

The large cockpit has a bathing platform called Cosmo, with three steps that can be lowered below the water level or raised. This 40,000 euro option is only available in the inboard version. A large sundeck, made of recycled plastic, faces the sea and tops a tender garage. The removable backrests allow to create a second bench around the two cockpit tables to accommodate 6 people. The whole can be equipped with cushions to create a huge sundeck.

The galley cabinet, which also serves as a support for the optional hard-top, is accessible from the cockpit, its seaward side being occupied by the main bench seat. As standard, a shade cloth protects the cockpit of the NY40.

In the kitchen, there is a refrigerator, a sink and storage, with the possibility of installing a cooktop.

A minimalist cockpit

The central cockpit has two passenger seats, offering good forward visibility. An elegant, tinted, rounded windshield protects the minimalist dashboard, which features two Simrad screens that allow control of all onboard systems.

Two interior design options

Inside, the layout is just as cozy as outside. A 160 cm wide double bed with storage space is located at the bow, while a mid-cabin with two twin beds is located in the center of the boat. Another option is to have a double bed in the stern and a convertible saloon in the bow.
