Silent Tender 400, an electric dinghy or runabout for fun

Silent Yachts, the specialist in large electric catamarans, presents its first tender, also electrically propelled. Designed for the Silent 60, it will also be a fun electric runabout or a classic tender.

A lightweight electric tender made of carbon fiber

The Silent Tender 400 is the first electric tender developed by Silent Yachts, which develops a range of electro-solar catamarans from 60 to 80 feet. This small 4-meter-long unit has a modern look and uses the colors of the range, namely white and black. Built in carbon fiber, it weighs less than 90 kg to be transhipped more easily from the hydraulic bathing platform of the 60-foot catamaran, but also to be easier to propel.

A modern design

Its angular and modern lines have a rounded bow on top and a long and wide bilge. According to the shipyard, the hull deflects spray well, even at high speed and in rough seas.

A layout for 6 people

Central cutouts in the bulwarks allow easy access to the boat via a step. The center console has simple and intuitive controls: throttle, steering wheel and a display showing speed, heading and depth. A bench seat is positioned in front of the console, a small sunbathing area in front of the anchor locker, while the pilot seat has three seats with backrests. All are equipped with handrails. In total, 6 people can take place on board.

Inboard or outboard propulsion

Various inboard and outboard propulsion options are offered by the shipyard. The propulsion is provided by a 20 kW electric waterjet offering a shallow draft and easy maintenance. In outboard, two powers are offered: 25 kW and 30 kW. The higher power allows a speed of 20 knots.

For performance reasons, Silent-Yachts decided to equip its tender with a standard 16 kWh lithium battery, with an option of 20 kWh for more autonomy. With a cruising speed of 10 knots, the shipyard guarantees up to 2 hours of navigation. The integrated fast charge can recharge the battery in just 2:30.

A larger model to come

The shipyard is currently working on a larger 5.1-meter model, designed to fit the garage of Silent 80 series yachts. The standard 2022 price is 76,800 euros.
