Two years ago, Marvin, Daniela and their little daughter Tara decided to leave everything behind to live a nomadic life aboard their sailboat, an Oceanis Clipper 473. Today, they are starting a new life together - a little boy named Soan has joined the crew - in the Caribbean.

For Daniela and her daughter, it's back to sailing. If Marvin sailed their sailboat to the Caribbean from the Canaries, the young woman spent the last months of her pregnancy far from the sea. She suffers a lot from seasickness, and the pregnancy tended to make things worse.
Now in Guadeloupe, they weighed anchor to reach Marie-Galante, its transparent waters, white beaches and numerous coconut trees, a landscape that brightened up their anchorage. Upwind, Marvin even reefed the genoa to relieve his family who had lost the habit of sailing. On their way, they also cross two of the fastest monohulls in the world, Comanche and Scorpios, in the middle of a regatta.
Why live on a boat?
Arrived at the anchorage, Daniela and Marvin explain the reasons why they chose to live aboard their boat. If at the beginning, their desires are different, they finally manage to join their objectives to settle on board their Océanis.
For Marvin, it was above all to enjoy his passion for the sea and sailing. For Daniela, to live a different life with her family in an ecological house. Finally they agreed to live a nomadic life around the world, to make their children discover a different life, to open their mind to other cultures and especially to discover the world all together. Life on a sailboat, however, is not always all happiness as Daniela explains - the rolling of their anchorage prevented them from enjoying a good night's sleep - but it allows them to enjoy an incredible freedom and to discover what the world has to offer.
