Two versions for the Menorquin 42
The Spanish shipyard Sasga Yachts, which designs trawlers inspired by the old traditional fishing boats of the Balearic Islands, unveils its latest model, the Menorquin 42. It is available in hard-top (HT) or flybridge (FB) versions.
This model is the first "Menorquin" launched by the shipyard in 2010 and it is to celebrate its 10 years of existence that Sasga Yachts decided to redesign it.
Beautiful outdoor living spaces
Access to the enclosed, rounded cockpit is from the swim platform via an overhead door. There is an L-shaped bench seat on the port side, but you can also install a dining table to enjoy the outside. The passage to the front is via the gangways equipped with railings. These have been widened to facilitate circulation to the raised sunbathing area for 3 people.
From the cockpit, a removable ladder provides access to the flybridge, whose layout has been redesigned to offer more equipment, including a U-shaped bench seat for 4 people, convertible into a sunbathing area, and a free space on the port side to install an optional grill-fridge-sink unit. The cockpit benefits from a double pilot seat.
An optimized cockpit
This 11.98 m long and 4 m wide model retains the standard layout of the main deck with a spacious euro saloon on the starboard side, large sofa on the port side and a cockpit with a new dashboard on the starboard side and a higher pilot seat for better visibility. The windshield is now in two parts euros and not three euros for the same purpose.
Kitchen on or under the main deck
The galley is located as standard on the lower deck, just to starboard of the companionway. It has been redesigned to provide 25% more storage space. But it can also replace the large sofa in the salon on the main deck, providing additional space for a third double cabin and increasing the sleeping capacity to 8 people. Two double cabins and two bathrooms are standard on the lower deck. The latter have also been redesigned to offer more space and functionality. They are equipped with new faucets and a new shower cabin.
Brighter cabins
The owner's cabin at the front of the boat has more storage space and even better finishes. The shapes are more refined and the mouldings less present, in order to offer more space and luminosity.
The guest cabin on the starboard side also offers more space and light thanks to a 50% larger porthole. Ventilation is also improved.
Improve living spaces
This new Mernoquin 42 retains the finishes and details for which the shipyard is known. By reworking the distribution and optimization of spaces, the shipyard wishes to offer even more functionality, luminosity, storage and comfort in the various living spaces. The style remains that of the range, a mixture of tradition and elegance.
