Open hull or cabin-cruiser
The DFNDR 9 from XO Boats is a sort of hybrid between a cabin-cruiser and an 8.43 m open hull. Its superstructure has sliding side doors that open completely (optionally replaceable with canvas) as well as a canvas on the stern that allows the interior to be enclosed or ventilated. With this design, the XO Boats DFNDR offers a different positioning compared to closed cabin models or even older DFNDRs.
Seating facing the sea or in the cabin
The circulation on board is all around the central console, well protected by the height of the bulwark and the handrails. The cockpit offers a straight bench seat, whose backrest folds completely forward to free up space, and a table. Two storage lockers in the gunwales allow for the storage of fenders.
inside, the aft bench seat slides easily to transform into a cockpit seat facing the sea. In this position, it is possible to create a sunbathing area with the addition of cushions. The upholstery is offered in two color options, melon or lemon.
In the cabin, there is ample storage under the rear double seat and an optional refrigerator. The pilot and co-pilot seats are installed on shock absorbers. They are adjustable according to the hardness of the shocks and the weight of the passengers. A removable bolster allows you to drive standing or sitting. The cockpit located on the port side is very spacious with a large touch screen navigation system that allows to manage all the systems on board. As an option, it is possible to choose a manual or electric sunroof.
A double cabin with access to the front deck
The double cabin at the front is accessible from the port side console. There is a bathroom with sink and shower that can be closed by a sliding door, as well as a bed for two people. A smart system of walking with jack on piston is hidden under the berth and allows to leave the cabin by the front, by lifting the trapdoor which opens on the front deck.
The space is large and can be transformed into a sunbathing area with the cushion package, comfortably wedged against the large U-shaped backrest. On the bow, the anchor locker can be equipped with an optional electric windlass.
Aluminum hull and outboard motor(s)
Like all the other models in the range, the DFNDR 9 has a deep V hull made of aluminum, which ensures a very good passage in rough seas. It comes standard with 2x225 hp, but is also available as a single outboard with 400, 350 or 300 hp.
