Editorial / It's summertime! It's time to cast off and enjoy

Respect is a value that sailors possess. Respect for the sea, respect for the environment, respect for the crew member, respect for the competitor. Let's take advantage of the summer to share these values and to enjoy them fully.

I hear it's summer? The season of sailing, of the pleasure of being on the water, of the joy of taking to the sea, of the joy of finding one's boat. The sea is a source of energy. So let's take advantage of this annual break to relax. But relaxing does not mean behaving badly.

The hard period of deprivation that we all hope to see behind us as soon as possible has opened our eyes to the pleasure of being free and moving at will. For this, the sea is certainly the space that offers the most freedom. Facing this expanse of water, you can take the route you want, without any other constraint than your ability to face nature.

But leaving the harbor, going out to sea, taking an anchorage must always be done with respect for our environment and other users: you do not anchor in the posidonia. Do not throw your waste into the sea. Do not flood a cove with your music. We slow down near the coast. Do not create waves when approaching an anchorage

The list of misconduct is long, almost as long as a night shift when the weather is bad. Unfortunately, we can see this bad behavior flourish on our shores when the summer season is in full swing. If we want our playground to remain pleasant and the practice of our passion to remain a pleasure, it is advisable to practice it with a minimum of respect.

So with these good resolutions in mind, let's meet on the water to discuss what guides us to the sea: passion. The whole Bateaux.com team wishes you a great summer!
