The New York Vendée Les Sables awaits its sailors

While Oliver Heer has just completed The Transat CIC and Clarisse Crémer is still racing, the return race, the New York Vendée - Les Sables-d'Olonne, will set off in 12 days' time, on May 29, at 20:00 French time. Given the technological progress of the IMOCA boats, the record time of 9d 16h 57min 52s set by Jérémie Beyou in 2016 should be beaten. Luke Berry's Ocean Fifty back in the water

On May 7, Luke Berry's Ocean Fifty Le Rire Médecin-Lamotte was relaunched in Saint-Malo. The trimaran had suffered major structural damage during the Transat Jacques Vabre 2023, and had returned to the shipyard on January 15 in several pieces. The port float was completely torn off. After 4 months and 4,500 hours of work, the boat is as good as new. A large part of the work involved repairing the arms and grafting them to the port float. All impacts on the appendages, float and central hull were repaired. The new mast was built by Lorima, and the focus was on reinforcing the platform to avoid the same mishap.
