The RS Aero is a solo dinghy. When you discover it, you immediately think of the Laser. Indeed, it takes up the concept that made this success, but in a much more modern way. The RS Aero is lighter (50% weight saving). Its 35 kg hull can easily be transported on the roof of a car. Fully equipped, the RS Aero weighs only 48 kg.
It is also a fun dinghy thanks to 3 mainsail areas (5, 7 and 9 m2) to adapt to the weight of the crew (or even to the wind conditions). The 2-part mast for easy transport is made of carbon. Gain in weight, but above all in rigidity.
So RS Aero is nervous. This dinghy pleases by its liveliness and smoothness at the helm. The high boom as well as the sheet in the middle of the boom makes tacking easier. With these features, the RS Aero appeals to both young and old sailors who can no longer find a crew member and are now able to sail single-handed.
The RS Aero is delivered ready to sail. For less than 10000 euros, you have a complete boat ready to sail. Rigging this type of dinghy can be done in a few minutes once on the beach or in the hold. It can be used for leisure or even for regattas. Since its launch in 2015, this sailboat has been a success. Already 2500 boats are sailing all over the world and many fleets are being created on the French coast: we talk about "Cluster Aero"!
Once the carbon tiller in hand, the daggerboard sabre in its well, the RS Aero has all the settings: very powerful downhaul, cunningham, edging and sheeting. Everything within the helmsman's reach. Whatever sailor you have in mind, from 14 to 74 years old, trying a RS Aero is often like adopting it!
